I charge $75.00 per cu yard, delivered and spread. That price is based on the most expensive mulch. If a customer wants a lower grade of mulch, I make more per yard.

$50-$60 per yard delivered and spread. Minimum charge even if it's 1/2 yard is $50.

Depends on cost of mulch & what your markup should be. where it has to be moved from & too. just make sure that there can be profit made on it

I am doing a yard this week roughly two yards I told the customer 50 dollars to deliver and spread, I will be getting the mulch for 10 dollars a yard, Then I am charging 50 dollars to pull weeds. It is not infested with weeds should take 1 hour. So it totally up to your labor cost. Remember you set the price and bid the job high you just might get what you ask for.

$ 100 a yard sounds good to me, but does that price include re-defining the edges? Just curious.

$60 yard installed, edging is $1 a foot and cleanout $40 per man hour are extra.

You guys charging $100 per yard, does that include prep? Are you using a bark blower or manual labor? Just wondering. :)

If you have a set price for spreaing a yard of mulch, what happens if customer calls you and wants a bed mulched that will take 40 yards to do,and you have to wheel barrel it 300 feet to the bed,are you still going to charge your, "yard rate"?

Just wondering because I am in that position now

If I had access via a mulch blower $55-60 per yard depending on product(includes bed edging with edger). Cost here is about $37-40 per yard.

No access with mulch blower, if customer would not mind the use of a skid loader; same rates + skid loader rates + pickup fee, etc.

No blower, no skid loader, $70 per yard (and I would be renting some serious labor.)

I did a 13 yard job last year by myself in under 12 hours and 1/2 the job was about the same distance at $60 per yard and will not do that again. Couldnt get the blower to use the product the customer wanted and skid loader was not an option.

40 cu yd bed is huge, sure your calcs are correct?

good luck.

40 yds will mulch 4m at 3" deep, or 8m at 1.5" deep.

I pay $18 per yard. I wish I could get $100 per yard like some people but the market here will not accept it.

I have been charging $.40 per square foot of bedding. I'm spreading the mulch about 1" to 2" deep.

My cost on 2 cu feet of mulch is $2.32 at Lowe's.

Using this formula, I have been charging $64.80 per cubic yard at a 2" depth. This pricing includes tilling any weeds. But because I only do this work if I get the weekly bed maintenance to go along with it, I don't have to worry about getting every single weed. If anything comes up next week through the mulch, I just hit it with roundup.

Thanks.

I was waiting for you guys to repond to the question that was asked earlier that is very important to this thread. Only one guy made this clear.

Is the price you guys are quoting for mulch per yard including the bed edging?
