Well now Ive seen it all. In my local paper I saw this picture of a new mower that will use lasers to cut the grass. The chassis is a modified Mercedes benz 4wd with a 52" (im guessing) cut. This is supposed to come out in Germany in 2002 and will sell for 32,000 bucks. Star trek meets the green industry!

NOW I'M PISSED!!!!!!

All week long I have been coming up with this laxer mower that pulverizes clippings. No dicharge.
Powered by electrical, from gas generator. Compact, ect, ect.

I can't believe there is a mir space station, and we are still using noisy gas powered rotary mowers to cut grass.

Wait till we have lasers to perform such operations as pruning trees! Now THEN we'll have something. I've thought about the laser mower idea for years. My vision was something like 2 rails- one at each side of perhaps an athletic field. A beam would come on, run down the rails-rapidly- and presto! The whole field would be cut!

My verion of the laser idea is, there would be a satalite, and it would sent a beam down and cut the whole yard, but you would have to program in all the trees and landscaping so it would not cut those down to, and then you could just set the cutting height and.... no scalping! well its a dream isnt it

I bet the lawn will be burnt by it and not be very healthy. The problem with long beams is that they are straight and lawns are not flat,so you would need to do small passes or riase cut height to a foot tll in low spots so you dont burn the high spots

I guess no one has considered the customers little poodle "MUFFY" that is looking for just the right spot to crap to make sure we hit it with the string trimmer.

(FZZZZZZZ!!!![That is my lazer sound} FZZZZ) YIPE! POOF! (FZZZZ)

Later that day customer comes home: What is that aweful smell. It smells like burnt something or other. MUFFY! MUFFY! Come here MUFFY! Now where can my little cutesy MUFFY be?

Later when you get a call to come to the house immediatly you can walk out onto the lawn and say "WHO F***** up my lawn!"

(I think i need help. Anyone a psychyatrist as a first job?)
