Just curious as to what members of the group were charging these days for sod, installed including prep work per yard?

I do not bid sod work in this manner.
What I do is figure how long it will take me/crew for the prep work at a given rate pr man hour, actual sod laying, materials and other expendables then add 70% to cover unknowns.
It works for me and with the really poor soil/rock conditions here.

$6 per yard is fine if soil conditions are ideal and the job is over 100 yards. Prep work included. This makes it easier when estimating, so long as you know what the job is going to take. My brothers and I work very fast, being experienced, and always realize a substantial profit bidding this way. $5 - $8 per yard is fair in my area. For smaller jobs I bid by the hour.

In this area you are very lucky to get $3 per square yard. I usually shoot for $2 to $2.50 a yard.

I usually charge 35 to 50 cents per square foot to deliver and install. This is if the ground is prepped and all I have to do is unload and lay. The price varies on site conditions and size of job.

Your sod must be alot more than ours or our market is driven down by a chosen few who lay 1,000+ yds a day with 5-10 Mexicans from Labor Ready. Our sod cost is about $1.50yd. The two largest in town one owns a sod farm puts it down for $1.85yd and the other is about $1.65. No one can touch that. I do as little as possible but when I have to its $2.50 layed plus prep work based on my hourly rate plus equip. I can fit 400 yards on the flatbed and have it down in 4 hours or less with another guy after prep work is done. Not a real money maker here but ok if the time is right for me and need to fill a day.
