What is to be charged in your areas for Broadcast overseeding, and what about lsit seeding.....

Unless you are doing something to prep the seedbed (rough it up), broadcasting is pretty useless. Now if you run a thatcher over it to loosen the surface and then roll or rake the seed in, you get some value. Time+materials for me
Slitseeding - I take the cost to rent it (120.00 a day here) +the seed,fert,straw cost + the labor rate I want. Unless it's one big lawn I wait till i've got 3 or 4 to do before renting, then divide the rental by each yard used on.

i should have been more thorough. yes, broadcast seeding is no bueno, we power seed. the grass we use up here is fescue/rye/bluegrass mix, the rate on established lawns is 5-7 lbs per k. so heres the deal on that: 4k property=$340. seed, approx 25-30 lbs=about $30. we also fert when we are done, its included in the fee. fert cost, about $4. i love doing this work. we do it from early sept -mid october.
