View Full Version : Installing a New Bed
I usually don't make new beds, thats why I have this question. A customer wants 2 new beds. Each is 9 x 60 feet. I estimate 12 yards of mulch. Does this sound right. Existing beds are easier to estimate.

Twelve yards will do it. You may only need ten, but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Length times width times depth (depth needs to be put into a fraction of a foot) then divide by 27 (cubic feet in a yard)
9x60x.30 (fraction of a foot)(.30 equals four inches) and divide by 27 (cubic feet in a yard)
equals 6.0 yards times 2 beds = 12 yards total
I'd go with four inches since it's a new bed.
Looks good to me bob, 12 is good.
