With Hydro ZTR's how long can they go without major repairs?

What do you find to be common failures and costs after a certain amount of hours(belts, spindles, hydro pump/motor...)?

It all depends on the mower. Different brands of mowers tend to have different problems. Also some brands are tougher to fix and may have more expensive parts than other brands.

Right all machines have their Quarks,,keep it greased,keep the hydro filter and fuild changed .and it never hurts to change it early.keep maintence on it and what ever the quarks are they ought to be kepped to a min.that gose for the engine also.
