Here's my stuff mounted. Total cost for mounting about $30. These clamps hold very tight without any movement and loosen by pushing the orange handle......Enjoy.....

Here's a pic from the rear......two 48's, one 54 with attached velky, one big push leaf blower.... all are held by wheel chocks for instant removal. As you can see, the front mower can come off from the custom side ramp, without taking off the other machines............
Trailer is 7'X18'.... rear ramp and custom side ramp.......

Thanks a lot. The key was cut 3/4" off of one clamp end. This let the 2" clamp close down to a 3/4" diameter, which in turn will "now" hold all of the smaller diameter tools. Home depot has the clamps for under $3 each.

The total was $4,470 + tax, including break away kit, Ziebart under coating, 3/8" plywood sides, 3/4" pressure treated bottom, tandem wheels, four wheel electric brakes, two dome lights, one vent, stone guard, and of course rear ramp and custom 60” side ramp door.

Clamps are 2x6....make sure you get the"Pony" brand and not the cheaper version. The cheap version doesn't have the mounting holes to attach them to the wood.

Ed, as you can see I park in my driveway. I figured it's bad enough being in the driveway, so I didn't want to cause any more problems;) . In fact, I went for Bronze lettering on the trucking, which doesn't show up much until you view it straight from the side. Lucky, I really don't need advertising, so it's OK. My neighbor recommended doing the rear of the trailer so you wouldn't see the advertising when parked in the drive......That I may do:p

I looked at the V door, too. The reason I went with the custom side is, it ramps all the way off right to the yard, where the V door doesn't reach all the way to curbing. This makes it tough when going back and forth with a wheelbarrow or lugging leaf (55 gal) cans in and out of the trailer.
Also, the side door let's me drive my rider in from the side and fits in just right. The V door didn't allow me to drive the rider in and park it sideways (I lost a lot of good loading space). I'd just make sure the V door is the most practical for you usage. Good luck,
Pete

Without sounding to "snooty", I appreciate that you guy's like my setup. And, I'm glad I could share my method for holding equipment with all of you. I know even though I "Know it all":D , I still pick little tidbits from everyone.
Thanks,
Pete

The v-nose works for me, I sponsor my snowmobile race team in the winter, and my wife and I go quading quite a bit. When I was checking into the 60" side door, One manufactor talked about doing it, another one said not to do it, so I got the v-nose.

What brand is the trailer? Does the 5.4 seem to pull it pretty well?

Yes, the 5.4 has no problem at all. I figure the total weight with trailer is around 5,000 lbs. The Trailer is a Timberwolf, bought through "Bomar Racing" in Indiana......

Do those clamps hold tight? I'm looking for a way to store my hand tools (rakes, shovels, broom, etc...) off the floor of my open 6.5x12. Upright they are a bit to tall for my garage door or to low to the ground & I'm way to lazy to bring them in every night from the truck. So as of now they lay bungee on the floor next to the mowers.
An other suggestions how to store them for a minimal cost & daily effort.

You can go to Home depot and try them yourself. In my opinion they are more than strong enough. To open them with one hand takes most of all your hand power. Nothing budges in the trailer. Hope this helps,
Pete

Got Grass, depending on how much you have, you could use pvc angled at about 45 degrees. If you do it, make sure you have a sign because you're gonna get noticed. I thought of some enclosed trailers I've seen that had hand tools angled to the rear.

Pete,
I am jealous! Nice rig dude! I have a 7x16 enclosed rear ramp only and wish I had the side ramp. I might consider that in the future though.
Nice set up and pictures. And Yes letter the ramp!

It works very well for a solo guy like me:p I'm sure it's nothing like you guy's with the big crews, but It's perfect for me. It's nice leaving my two machines in the back, taking out the other machine from the side and loading that area up with a half dozen 55 gallon trash cans full of leaves. Also, no more having my wackers or trimmers roll around in the back of the truck;)
Thanks,
Pete

1/2 dozen green barrels of leaves?
I've done cleanups where it's been emptying the green barrels into my trailer a dozen or more times. I have three barrels myself.. And rotate them and pull 2 to the truck at a time...
I wish cleanups were only 6 barrels. <G>

Garr,
When it's gets to be a big cleanup, I blow the leaves to the curb and sub the leave removal to my friend who has a dump truck and leaf sucker. I have enough leave blowing to do, that I can't be bothered bugger lugging leaves all over. At 53, I'm getting too old for that:p

I should of known that you had a much more effecient manner in dealing with the leaves... And hey, BTW, no problem with selling the enclosed trailer..... Hope someone can put it to good use.
And if I didn't mention it already, you're new trailer looks Great. Do you have a big HUSTLER Equipment inside sign on the back of it yet? <G>

VERY sweet set-up! The clamp idea is really clever.
Just wondering about the barrels for the leaves. Since you dont have your blowers and wackers rolling around in the bed of your ford anymore, why dont you dump them in there? It would free up alot of space in your trailor also. j/w.
Im jealous!

My Friend has the aluminum dump insert for his Dodge, which he loads with leaves.... I may go that route, way down the road. Thanks,
Pete
