85 Dodge Gas Pump

My truck won't start, and I have narrowed it down to the gas pump. When I take the line off of the gas filter which is after the pump, gas pumps out. Took the line off at the carb, once again gas pumps out. As the engine is being cranked over, I'm staring down into the carb. I only get one squirt of gas as the accelerator is being held down.

In case you are wondering, it is a 2 barrel carb sitting on a V8 engine.
Does it sound like the gas pump is shot?

Matt, start over, see if you squirt a little fuel down the carb if it starts.

Next check for spark.

i have an 88 dodge pu with a gas motor...didn't start...distrubutor was shot...

i thought it was a fuel problem too.

Thanks Mike.

I too thought about the fuel in the carb, so I went ahead and did it, and she fired right up.
Bought a new fuel pump, slapped it on, and she started right up.
