Water well drilling ?

Question on having a water well drilled:
Location is Western New York, Chautauqua County.

How are they priced?
Is it by foot that they have to do down or is it a flat rate?
or.....Is there a base cost for so many feet then extra if they go down further?
What do they give you? Yeah....i know, they dig a long hole in the ground for you, but what else? Cap? Pipe? Pipe how many feet down?

And......anyone on here from this area that can possibly recomend someone.

I have had wells drilled with a base price of 2000$ for 20 feet.(shallow wells out here) After that they charge like 15$ per foot. Also depends on the type off well being drilled, domestic or irrigation. (10 inch or 36 inch) Then you have prices for casing, screen, pump, gravel pack, wiring and setup. Call local well drillers and get some quotes and get references.
