trouble starting 5hp Briggs

Any help would be much appreciated. I have been trouble shooting this all morning, and my brain is starting to go. When I pull to start the rope recoils really hard. This happens every pull, I cant find anything that looks wrong. Thanks in advance.:confused:

By recoils hard, you mean it wants to pull the cord out of your hand? If so, then it is either a loose mower blade, or a sheared flywheel key. If the blade isn't loose, then it is the flywheel key. The part only costs $1, so if you can do it, you would save money.
