To start fertilizing or not?

I was thinking about becoming a liscensed fert and pesticide applier for next year. Right now I do lawn mowing, cleanups, brushhogging, some stone work, mulch and some light landscaping. My questions being,

1. How do I get licsensed in NYS?

2. Can I make enough $ at it to justify the extra expenses?

3. How much more did your insurance go up?

4. What do most of you charge, by the sq. ft?

5. What kind of equipment did you start out with and what did it cost?

Any comments would be great.

OK since NY has some really strict guidelines are you sure you want to play with them.

Also just fert is only part of the service, don't forget the insect and weed control.

Now for the fun part, before you ask anymore questions, use the search feture and do some reaserch on this subject to find out if you even want to mess with it. You will also need to learn many things before you even got out and think about taking the test.
