HOLY POTATOES! This machine rocks, like godfather said it can handle tall grass with out any strain, really like the steering system to, i used it all day yesterday without any fatigue or having to worry about ripping my hands off on trees or what have ya, only thing i can complain about is that i had to take the blades off and replace them with sharp ones, how come they dont come with super sharp blades? still thou one hell of a mower. i will post some pics later..........

HOLY POTATO'S
I like HOLY BATMAN better, but....
No need for anyone to lie, that mower can almost cut 8" to 3.5" in 1 pass and not have to double cut it, box stock.
I did try double high lifts on mine, but you definitely need a mastechute for it with those, they shoot the clippings out a good 20+ feet. Makes one heck of a mess if you aren't careful.

if i use double high lifts do i have to buy an attachment for the spindle or do i just put the blades on one over the other, or do you use a spacer between the two. never ran doubles yet, also can this mower handle it? do you have to run at a slower speed?

Put them on like this +
Crank the spindel bolt down real tight, they will stay in place. That's all you need.
You should have the longer fine thread bolt, most of my WB have the short course thread bolts.

thanx i will try it tomorrow, one more question is how many different blades are out there, 4 i believe but i may be wrong, also godfather can i just use some sort of plate for now across the chute if i run doubles?

Just watch how close you get to beds, it will throw the grass up in the air also, that's how it goes 20+ out.
Flip down your discharge chute when in tight confines.

Does your new 52 cut better then the 36". I just was wondering if there ever is a differnce with the deck size cutting better.
That wil be my next mower if I decided to get any bigger.

i would say the 52 cuts better cause of the floating deck but its hard to tell cause i have a striping kit on my 36 and not one (yet) on the 52 so actually they probably cut dam close the same if anything i would give more credit to my 36 but then again its like my right arm and ive been using it so long so i am still partial to it........no wonder i dont have kids

Is Yours a 2002 Or newer TT? if it is You have the ultracut Deck Like the One I Posted a Pic Of. It came Off the Lazer.
Get the Blowout Baffle when you run Doubles, You will need It. Just do What LGF Said and You Will do Fine!
Good Luck John

I have had some good days and some bad days with my 52"TT.
I have gut the Micro Mulching Kit on and as wet as its been, I havent gotten faster than speed "2" (unless I'm going over it the second time) I think the Mulching blade is cutting it too fine, I am
going to try the gators today and see if it helps at all.
I got the ProSlide attatchment for mine, just as good as a stripeing kit, except for the area between the ProSlide and the tires(Leaves a little gap)
We cut a yard friday. I did the front with the TT and it was clumpy, I had helper cut back with the Troy-Bilt 33" Wide Cut and there was no clumps.
I have seen some post talking about the beck pitch. My deck is set dead nuts level. I'm going to try raising the back of the deck and see what hapens.
All and All The TT is a Hoss.

old 5,
spring is no time to be mulching. with all this rain, and high growth, mulching (as you have experienced) wont give good results

I beg to differ, I keep my equipment set up to mulch year round,
I always have. The Troy-Bilt has a mulching deck and handled it just fine(No clumping and moving right along in 3rd gear).
The Troy-built 33" Wide Cut is 9 years old and it gives a better cut than the 52" TT, but the TT is a whole lot easier to run on slopes thanks to the weight and the hydro.
I hope the 36" TTHP I'm getting will be more like the Troy-built.
Maybe I need to rig up the Troy-built deck under a TTHP frame.
Anyway, my point is, I've mulched yer-round for ages with a cheap machine and the Best machine cant cut it.

WE never mulch here ! The Landscapers that do end up thatching and aerating every year ! It does not work here ! All you end up with is a thatch layer !

ya mine is a 02 model, and i put the doubles on and to be honest i dont like the cut as well, are the blades that come with the machine high lift? i am thinking of gators here real soon also i need to buy a plate of some kind cause i had blowout like 15 feet probably defeated the purpose of using doubles uh?

Sorry to bust your bubble MAC, but I too run mulch kits and my lawns turn out pretty good. If you do not think so look through the STRIPES thread. ALl my lawns are mulched. That is why they look better than all the rest even now.
Yes you will have to slow down. But I am not on a timed event here. I have everything priced so that I can take my time and do these right.

Hey John,
I just wanted to say thanks for suggesting the ProSlide, I will be getting a second one for my 36", these things are great!
When I first started cutting with mine it was aweful, I could'nt beleive the clumps, Come to find out the Dealer had the rear deck adjustment rod at 7 & 1/4" rather than the 6 & 7/8" as the manual directs. I was going to raise mine in 1/8" increments and figured 1/4" would be about all I need, but yours looks like 1/2 or maybe better?

Try It The way You are Going to do It, It Is a Great Mower With a Lot Of Lazer Parts Like, 200lb Clutch, Caster Bearings, Ultra-Cut deck. Try Doubles Only In thicker Grass, Or wetter Grass you Should Be Fine.
John.

Come up here to the Midwest with your mulch kit on you will strip it off by days end. the grass is growing so fast here I had to take mine off. Be assured its going back on as soon as the grass slows down when the heat kicks in :(
