Unfortunately, we work most Saturdays. Usually I can get a few off during August and September, but that's about it. I really get run down working 6 days week! Got to take more time this year for myself.Mike

April, May, and June Matt will work on Saturdays for a couple of reasons. One, if it rained during the week, then he will use Saturday to mow. Or else he uses Saturdays to schedule other type of work. Like yesterday, he installed a few beds, trimmed some hedges, planted a few plants, and laid down a few yards of stone for a one time customer. One time customers get scheduled for Saturdays.

I ususally only work about 4 hours on Saturday. But if we got rained out like Thurs and Fri then we will work the whole day Saturday

If you mean mowing on Saturdays, we don't unless we get backed up cause of rain. But I do all the weekly maintenance on Saturdays on 7 big mowers which takes a while (most of the morning) including blade sharpening.

The afternoon is reserved for sales calls, estimates, going to the dealer, getting supplies, etc.

I do if during the week we got a rained out day. You gotta make it up sometime, right? :D

We work Saturdays all season but only till around noon. It gives us a day to get stuff done or get caught up if we have a rain day. Just My two Cents

I'm part-time so I use Saturdays to mow the yards/acreage that I use the rider on. I am at some places a few hours with the rider.

Only if I absolutely have to. Usually it's due to bad weather delays.

I broke my own rule today, and worked for 5 hours on Sunday. But you know what..it actually felt good and I am really caught up now.

Yep and Sundays too.
I coach little league so I have to make up for ball practice and games.

This thread should have read who doesn't work on Sat...... It's just par for the course especially when weather doesn't cooperate during the week..... who works Sundays? Anyone who wants to get the jump on next week or whose behind from last week.

Only Sunday we will work is if we are tearing down our booth at the trade show ... once a year.
With the short season we have here you have to work Saturdays ... If a guy has special plans it's no problem to get the odd one off.

Know that the Bent is growing well I will be out Saturday and Sunday mornings mowing greens for an hour and a 1/2. Not that bad, sort of like being up early on the weekends.

Don't know of anyone who would mow on Sun. to "get ahead"

WildMowMan
05-20-2003, 08:59 AM
it depends......I don't work every Sun. but if they're predicting major weather complications for the upcoming week..you can bet your a**, that my a** is out there on Sun. to get a jump on it so I'm not backed up after the storm fighting to catch-up. I do a lot of design and installation projects not a lot of lawn accounts... at least if I get those outta the way, then that will leave me time to focus on other projects....some that can be done in bad weather......I don't mind rain if I can still make money doing other things but I'm not going to bother cutting lawns when they're wet. Even 1/2 a day would get me far enough ahead if need be.......

I don't work Saturdays because it's the Sabbath, but I'll work all day on Sunday, the first day of the week!

We work saturdays half of the time. Not always mowing. Only mow when we get rained out on a thursday or friday and don't have a chance to make it up. Usually its landscaping. 7:30am-2:00pm usually.

I schedule lawns to be cut Monday to Friday and use Saturday as a rain day . I also do hedges and fertilizations on weekends.

I work almost every Saturday and Sunday that it does not rain. I still work a 7-3:30 job, so I need the weekends to catchup with my 40 hrs of mowing. I like to mow all my commercials then because there are no vehicles or people to deal with.

Maybe when you're "bored" you should study a bit more.

who did you use to design that logo for you. I'd like to see if they could come up with something for me. Thanks.
