blade combos for doubles

what blade combos do you all use when you run doubles on your walk behinds?
i tried gators over high lifts today and it seemed to work alright.

That's what I use and they work great. Haven't really tried anything else on the walk-behinds.:)

I've been useing double high lifts with good results,I may try some gators on top as long as they don't make a mess under the deck!!

I run gator on top,scag marbain on bottom.Cuts and strips well UNLESS its wet, then it packs up worse than a single.:)

Gators over high lifts for me too.

Nothing comes out of there over 1/2" long no matter how tall the grass. It works on sappy spring grass. Works in the pouring rain. Same set up for the bottom of a ditch or striping a lawn.
But I have to put the catcher on to keep clippings out of the shrub beds.

I never considered double blades before...
Now that I think about it, my honda 21 has a lift blade and a mulching blade. Did you guys change the blade bolt for a longer one? The bolt on lazer z seems kinda short.

FWIW, we've been mowing in the rain or heavy wet grass and ran into the same problem as you did. It was so bad with the highlift doubles my chute began clogging, totally jamming the machine and I couldn't mow.
I went back to the shop and took off the blades and installed single no lift (cut sail) blades and when out and mowed. The machine cuts the grass and spits out clumps every other pass, but the machine doesn't clog. It seems without the lift, the grass doesn't get thrown up into the deck, and the chute and underneath doesn't get jammed. If you're gonna be mowing in the rain, as I expect to this week, you may want to try something like this.

Ive been running double high lifts for the spring growth.... since my Lazer doesn't have spacers I run one one OEM highlift on the bottom (.240 thick) and I run a lighter duty high lift on top (.204 thick)..... seems to work ok.... less weight to spin than 2 OEM thickness blades.

I would like to try flat (no lift) blades over high lifts, but haven't gotten any yet.
