What chainsaw do you guys use for general purpose work?

I've ONLY used Stihl saws. My favorite "general purpose" saw is my '028'. It has plenty of power for big work & is small enough for limb work. Also I've ahd it since 1989, and it still cranks on the second pull!!

I own a Stihl M310 and a Jonsered 2554 Turbo.
Not to impressed with my Stihl.
Jonsered is a better saw than my Stihl but not big enough for my needs.
My next saw purchase will be a Husqvarna 288 lite. Now thats a saw.......
The tree crew that I grind stumps for use nothing but Husqvarna.

Stihl 026 the old heavy metal one. Yep it's a little heavy, but a real work horse.

Husky 372, modified by Dennis Greffard. This thing will out cut anything out there, short of another modified saw. I went through a chain link fence (I know - you're not supposed to use them on metal:rolleyes: ) and didn't even know it, never bogged the saw down a bit.

Have a Husky 55 and love it. Use Stihl at fire dept where I work full time, ours need constant tweaking.

If you can find an Echo 099(I think) Older model with steel housing not all plastic. It is the best 12-14' bar saw I have ever seen

I have a Stihl 026Pro. I love it. My buddy bought the 290 Farm Boss last year. We cut a bunch of wood last October, it was 80 degrees out, and boy am I glad I had the 026, he was beat by the end of the day. I also just bought an old Sachs-Dolmar from my girlfriends dad, he cant handle the thing anymore. Its a big old heavy saw, but works well.

I have a Husqvarna 45 and I am very happy with it. It is just the right size for what I do and it has plenty of power.
