Just wondering how you all get rid of the dead junk after killing it. I reseeded a section of my lawn today , i sprayed roundup a week ago, ran a dethatcher over it to pull up as much as i could, raked aerated and reseeded over this. There was still alot of stems there, i know they'll die, but if i was doing this on a customers lawn i would want to get rid of all of it, down to bare soil? Looks ok for now because the straw hides it?

Todd, if the ground does not need levelling, it's best to leave the dead stems. Just mow after dead to 1" to 1-1/2", then slit seed into stubble. The old grass serves as a soil stabilizer, no need to mulch, and no concern about erosion during establishment of new grass. As long as it is mowed lower than you will be mowing the new grass, you won't even know it was there in a couple of months.
