Anyone know the correct oil filter for 25HP Kohler Command engine by Fram at Wal-Mart? Part #, etc. Want to just get part at discount store instead of having to go to mower dealer. Thanks.

Purolator L10241 or if you really want a good filter the PureOne PL10241.
Bassman,
Fram PH-3600 it is a little longer than stock 4" or so but it is what my DC came with. Been working great for 1000+ hrs.
Hope this helps

The short version of the 3600 fram is a 3614,otherwise its the same.I use the kohler one or wix 51348.
Yeah, but the Fram's have SURE GRIP that lets John Force hold on to it while flipping his Funnycar!!! That SURE GRIP is great no more oil filter wrenches!! Another tip: I write the hours on the filter with a permanent marker, just easier than looking it up in a book! 50 hrs oil and filter, Amsoil every spring.

What do you run the rest of the year?
Keith,
Was that sarcastic? Can't tell. The Amsoil is a bypass filter that filters down to 1 micron. It is in addition to the engine mounted filter. I replace it Every spring with a NEW Amsoil filter and a FRAM PH-3600 and then 50 hrs later, a new 3600 and oil and so on....

Dixie, whats the price difference between Fram and Koler
filters, I buy Koler filters by the case and it works out
to about 5.50 per filter and is there a quality difference?

Jerry,
They are $1.99 for quantities of 1 to "whatever they have on the shelf" at Wal-Mart. I've heard that Fram isn't what they used to be in quality, but I change it every 50 hrs, and I have a 1 Micron bypass filter, so... Sometimes I wonder if a lower micron filter takes longer to filter the oil through it??? High flow/higher micron...vs...Slow flow/lower micron. Who knows? Like I said 1019 hrs of nothing but Fram and no smoke or oil usage. The Kohlers are like $5-$6 and are made by who???
