View Full Version : Just washed my truck... showing off.
My beast. It's a '98 1500 Z71 6.5L Turbo Diesel.
I can't leave anything alone, always modifying. Here's a list of mods so far:
- Cloud Rider Grill Cover
- APC Clear Corner Lenses
- Altezza Taillights
- Clear Roof Marker Lenses
- Extang Soft Tanno Cover
- Low Profile Hood Deflector
- Vent Visors
The truck serves as my personal vehicle, pulls the trailer during the summer for work, and in the winter on goes the Western UltraMount snowplow.
Billet 3rd Brake Light Cover.
And finally, the origin of my company name! ;)

Sweet truck dude, I had a 97 GMC 3/4 ton X-cab shortbox w/ a 350. I love that configeration of a truck. If the mileage woulda been just a little better ( 12-14 highway) I probobly would kept it but being a poor student I needed to find somthing a little more econimical. My ford diesel gats 17 so its a little better. What kinda MPG do ya get with a 6.5 TD? Love the way those trucks look and ride and the interiors are awsome. 40/60 split or buckets up front?
I really don't know what kind of MPG it gets, I don't keep track of it to be honest. It's still a big block V8, so it can't be all that much better than a gas 350, but it's a diesel! :D
Since it is my personal vehicle, I went with the leather. :)

That is a little odd that its a diesel and only a 1/2 ton... But then again your in Canada.. LOL.. I see the air opening s on the bumper... So thats a diesel bumper.. anywya.. I hate to ask a stupid question but whats a "euro" ???? If its the tail lights.. I think they look cool.. Wish they had them for the fords. then they would be on my truck too...
Your grill cover.....
Hope you don't use it in the summer while towing! They SERIOUSLY cut down on your radiators efficiency.....A LOT!
They're great in the COLD winter, as they will keep heat like a winter cover, but you even have to watch towing in the winter, and YIKES you plow too! I would just remove it ASAP. The 6.5L is a very under cooled engine.
If you want to modify or just know more about your GM diesel, take a look at www.thedieselpage.com Lots of info there with a nice forum like this to browse and ask questions. With a few little mods you could safely be putting out 250 hp and 450 ft/lbs. As your 1/2 ton didn't have the output that the 3/4 tons had. They derated due to rear axle torque capacity.
