Any body with experience? am looking at a 36" snapper WB one year old, Kohler 15 hp NOT hydro:( and it has a 2 wheel sit or stand sulky. Saw it in the paper today for 1795. It is owned by an LCO in town who seemed friendly, and said he'd load it on the trailer and I'm gonna meet him in the morning to look at it. He says he has a 48 and another 36 and needs to downsize. Anyway, if anybody has advice, I'm all ears!

I have a 48" snapper hydro with loop steering and it works GREAT. I have NEVER ran a snapper belt but have to say the loop steering is a great hand saver. :)

ok, what would you offer for the mower?

I wouldn't. If you have $1800.00, you surely can get $2000.00 and get a brand new XMark, huh?

so did you get it? I don't particularly like the loop handles. with the snappers it's harder to turn around without leaving doughnuts. like the dual idlers but don't like them if i want to clutch the breaks to manually pull back on the handles. the one i use idles down when in reverse which i don't particularly like. it also has square ends on the deck which really sucks. holds up well though and cuts and stripes good. pulls sulky fine.

not yet. I offered 15oo, and he said ok, but it looks like it has been a long year of use! It neeeds blades, and I've been thinking about what everybody said about a new mower. I may keep looking. After all, I STILL do not have any accounts:(

Well I just got into the business and got my brothers 8 year old snapper 36" WB after he bought a JD 48". It works like a charm and he took only moderate care of it. I have not put the sulky on it as I am still getting comfy with it. It starts up first try everytime and cuts thru grass like butter. It squeaks a bit but it is not really that loud. The grass I cut looks GREAT when I finish. It is a belt drive with pistol grips and has a kawasaki 15HP motor and gator blades. I bet it will cut with the best of them. Just my 2 cents worth.

yo, i have a 36 snapper, loop handles, cuts like a dream, but making turns......forget it. more work than its worth, u can mess with the brake adjustments so u dont tear up the grass, but u will find yourself" manhandling" the thing more than u would like. mine has(had) a 15 kawa on it. i ended up takin the motor off and putting on a bunton that i have. dont buy it
