Yesterday was my first cut in the business. I did a 1300 sq ft lawn for $25.00. I mowed, trimmed, and blew it off in about 20 minutes. I knocked on neighbors doors and introduced myself, and handed out flyers for about two hours. I'm confident 2 of their neighbors will go with me. I will be setting up a business account as soon as I have enough from service to start one. Everything will be done legit from the get go even if It seems if I'm not making any money. Anyone can make an unhonest living, selling drugs. Why break the law and your back at the same time? Well here we go!!!

Oh yeah I'm using a 22" craftsman push mower, a Silver Eagle trimmer, and Shindiawa eb240 blower. All this equipment will be upgraded as soon as possible. Especially trimmer it is to short for me.

Congrats LD. Just use what you got and keep your overhead down. Let the biz make the $ to buy the upgraded eq.

I sure wish I had some 20 minute lawns! I have some $25 lawns but they take me closer to an hour. I used a customer's Craftsman today cause they wanted it bagged and my mower doesn't bag. Turns out the self-propel was pretty fast. I think it had a faster and larger bagging system than the Snappers I used to use as well. I used to think Craftmans were junk; the first mower I had was a Craftsman and I never got another one. But apparently they make them better now. If I were you, I'd still get a backup mower though, since it's not commercial grade. I've learned from experience the last thing you want is to have your mower break as soon as you're getting busy, and have no backup. The shop has taken more than 2-weeks to fix mine before.

I used to have only a 21" Craftsman and was going to get a backup, but then I decided that if it broke I would just buy another one, rather than have a 2nd mower sitting around doing nothing. Now my 21" is my backup, and is also used for small areas.
