how do you guys do estimates in the rain

it might sound dumb but how do you write in the rain.
i just finished and estimate in the rain and it was 20,000 sf,and it was a pain.i know that surveyers sometime use waterproof paper and pens.
what are some tricks

it depends on what I'm giving the est. for. If its mowing job, I can do that without writing anything.

I did a fescue seeding est this morning in a light rain. Just didn't get my pad wet and then went to the truck to add it all up.
