Anyone ever hear of a greencare aerator? Did a search both here and the Internet and didn't find anything. Looking for good and bad points and what to look for when looking at a used one.

Are you looking at that ebay auction too? I was wondering about that one. Never heard of Greencare, but it's a 9 horse and self propelled, too. KC chiefs and Royals used it for their fields. Kinda cool.

after doing some more searching, I found one in omaha that is for sale used. It appears that they are manufactured in Australia, so parts might be a bit of a problem. Can't find a USA dealer anywhere. Not sure how it will work in a resi setting, according to the website, it's not a walkbehind, you actually walk in front of it towing it behind you.

I know this is a very old topic but, I was wondering if any one knows where to get parts for these units?

If parts and service are going to be a problem just pass on it and go with Lesco or other brand. There is nothing worse than some peice of equipment breaking down on the job and no part or service to fix it.

Greencare's machines are designed for golf course greens. Check with someone in your area who sells golf course equipment. I think they have traditionally been paired with John Deere Golf equipment distributors. If that doesn't work check out some golf trade magazines like Superintendent News.

Thanks for the advice...
I have a putting green in my backyard that is why I picked up this aerator. It is in good working shape, there are just a few parts that I would like to replace (e.g. turf guard). I checked with the John Deere dealer in NY (dealer sticker on the machine) and they said they have a hard time getting in contact with Greencare... oh well. I only spent $400 on this unit and it works great. Since I will only use it 2-4 times a year it should not be a big issue, hopefully.

It has worked out very well. It has one saved me a ton of manual aerating and saved my green. I did find a dealer that can get me parts awhile back so that was even better.

Several years ago there was a parts dealer in CA for Greencare. I also think Finch ?? turf equipment in PA and MD may have some parts.
