I do know Port St. Lucie is somewhat a small town. I used to have friends that live there. They moved to Mass. last year. I also used to play volleyball in vero beach. It is very pretty there.

Definitely Port St Lucie. Big companies moving there. House prices good. 3/2 on 1/2 acre $130000. The place is growing fast. Get there now.

I was born and raised in Vero Beach. Moved to Michigan about 6 years ago. Vero Beach is a much nicer area than the other towns you mentioned. Draw Back...A little more expensive to live, Lots of old people. But hay....Lawn guys like old people dont we! The whole area is tasteful to live in, I think!
I do know the area real good so let me know if I can be any help!

Can anyone in the Vero/Sebastian area advise how the biz is there? I'm thinking of getting into it and was wondering if it was viable. THNX:gunsfirin

Its going pretty good in Vero if you are a go getter. You have to want it......It will not fall in your lap. Get involved with the chamber, service groups, and networking groups. Good luck

We're in Sebastian also.... there is a fair amount of competition in the lawn biz.
Spring is a better time, as things are hopping a bit more.
It's a nice quiet area though...not alot of general work...but nice. ...... great fishing and boating if you're into that.
Port St Lucie / Stuart area has a bit more work, but is a bit more congested. Port St Lucie has tons of abandoned properties..which means good deals to buy...a.nd the city just got a grant to spend $100K to clean up abandoned properties.
Melbourne area just north of us is nice too.. also a busier place.

I should have addressed the school issue. We are from the Northeast also. The schools are generally not as good as the northern schools. IMHO. With that said, Vero and Sebastian have very good systems. The people here are generally very nice. Lots of "Blue Hairs"....just something you get used to.
