Hi,

I received the results of a soil sample I did for a client and the Magnesium level is at 422. What, if anything should be done to correct this?

Thanks

My reference material tells me that 20 to 40 lbs./ acre is needed for turf growth. Reference also indicates that anywhere from 100 to 1000 lbs./ acre are not uncommon readings. Use of dolomitic limestone increases the magnesium level. I looked at some of our soil test reports, but we did not request a check of the magnesium in any of them. I hope I'm not way off base with this information, county extension agent should be able to provide you with more useful info.
