One of my customers has a lawn with about 4 circles of dead grass. They are probably 3' in dia. and it is some kind of fungus, I just haven't identified it yet. Do any of you know what it is, or a place I can get help identifying it?

Hard call without a picture.

Is it possible the mower was left standing in those spots during the heat of the day with the blades on?

I don't think so because I can actually see the fungus. It looks like a light brown mushroom with a small cap and small stem about 3"-4" tall. And they are growing in almost a perfect circle in about 4 different spots on this lawn? I didn't know if this was a common problem that you all knew about or not...guess not!
Is there any websites like weedalert.com only with fungus?

Did the lawn have trees in those spots? My neighbor has a spot in his yard like that, used to be a tree in his yard. The mushrooms usually grow from dead and decaying matter.

I'll definitely ask him that. That sounds like the best explanation yet.
What can I use to treat them?

Thanks for those links. I'm pretty sure they are fairy rings. It looks like the best thing to do is dethatch then water the area really well. I'll try that...thanks for all your help!
