View Full Version : Exmark vs. Scag

Okay guys, here is another question. I am in the process of getting my business license, federal tax I.D. number etc., etc. I am planning on starting my business in the spring of 2004. I've narrowed down my search for a mower to an Exmark or a Scag. I am very interested in the 36" Viking Hydro with mulch kit and sulky. The accounts I am going to try and target are the small to medium residentials or pretty much anything I can get seeing as I have 0 accounts now. Depending on how the business goes, maybe some larger residentials and commercials in the future. Gotta crawl before I walk y'know. My question is what are some of the different advantages with these two mowers. I hate to say this but the Exmark just looks so damn good and I don't want to form an opinion based on looks alone.

Sure appreciate you guys being so patient with a newbie

not trying to be sarcastic but, why not ask this in the exmark forum. Make them sell their product to you and prove that it will meet your every need, wish and want. You might get conflicting points of veiw asking everyone here. There is a huge wealth of knowledge here on LS and whats best for everyone else might not be the best for you.
Best of luck

You're going to get 'This is the best cause this is what I bought' answers on that type question.
If you haven't already, go to dealers, get brochures on brands you're interested in. Read every word in these things, then compare. Then see if you can set up some demo rides.
A consideration should also be the dealer, can make a great deal of difference for many reasons.
Me, I think Scag is best, and yes that's what I've got.

Thanks for the replies! I went to the local Exmark dealer last week and really liked the product. My next stop this week will be the local Scag dealer. Thanks again.
