ha ha. serious? whats wrong with east brunswick? ive worked in all the surrounding towns. by far the worse i found was north brunswick. i mean ive only had a couple requests from that area, and now make it a point not to go there at all. during leaf season we get tons of calls from NB, all cheapos. ive done 2 or 3 cleranups there, and one landscape job, well, almost, but thats a different story all together, maybe i should post about it??? but i find east brunswick very workable

He is right, that most that are from the Island do not post too often. I know for myself, it's a little hard this time of year. Gotta cram in makin' the green.

There was another LI er here but he hasn't posted much lately-KLM Lawn. I guess business is good and he's busy. I met him in person at the NSLGA conference at the Huntington Town House back in March, really nice guy. Mike

Heh, yeah I was at the show also. I know Krin personally from KLM. Nice guy, and is knowledgable about the business. God, I am just trying to get caught up on all our trimming.

Today was one of THOSE days. Had 2 foremen no call no show. That's ok, cause I'm gonna respond with no job.

Any of you go to the semminars at the planting fields?

AL Inc
08-15-2003, 04:28 PM
Just about every year. I've been a member of the association since 1995 and try to get to as many functions as I can. Not always easy, though. Mike

GLAN

Cool

I go to as many as I can myself. Prefer not going to the conference but will this coming March. Always go to the planting fields.

I hear a lot of people complain about the conference, but I enjoy going. It is usually the same equipment and vendors every year, but some of the seminars are interesting. It is a good time to see eveybody before the season gets going. There are people there that I see on the road, at the nursery, guys I know from classes at Farmingdale, from everywhere. Good to talk to them when we are not so hurried.

guys I know from classes at Farmingdale,

Hey, does Farmingdale still offer classes part time, or do you have to be enrolled full time? Someone told me they changed that recently, just wanted to know if it was true.

AL Inc

Paponte, I believe you can still attend part time. I do know they were moving toward a 4 year degree program for horticulture, but I haven't taken a class since spring 2001, so I'm out of the loop.

GLAN

Now I have to go to the seminars at the conference to maintain my credits.

Have noticed that the Cooperative extension has cut way back on providing seminars

AL Inc

GLAN, I believe that is just a result of budget cuts, they even closed the Plainview office.

GLAN

Gullota realy did us in with the heavy deficit.

No seeding yet, looks like another couple of weeks before we get going with that. We are finishing up a big install job that has occupied most of the month of August. I need some time to breathe and start scheduling the fall work:dizzy: Mike

How are you all coming along with the aerating and seed?

The rain last week. Labor Day week. Was a disapointment. Completed several on Saturday.

Will finish next week
