pesticide license

is there anybody out there who have recently received a pesticide control license. i just turned 18 here in CT and i heard i can now go out and receive a pesticide control license to put down fertilizer etc.. has anyone done this recently? was it hard to pass the test? any input would be greatly appreciated

Here in FL you must be in the business for at least 3 yrs. before you can even take the test. You are talking about applying herbicides to plant beds right? As far as I know, you don't need a license to apply fertilizer alone. That's the way it is here anyway. I know because I've been stopped and told not to spray roundup anymore but was told I could still apply fertilizer but not weed and feed.I now pay a pest control co. $300 per month to apply roundup to the mulch bed areas on my commerical properties.Unfortunately I still have a yr. or so to go untill I'll have my three yrs in. Like I say it could be completely different in your state. Good luck.
