ECS neutral latch adjustment

Exmark, I am wondering how the neutral latches on an ECS mower should be adjusted.

I have mine adjusted loose so that when hand pressure is put on the grips, they automatically set the hydro in gear.

Should they be tighter than that?

Too tight seems dangerous, it is too hard to put the machine into drive. Too loose, and sometimes they lock into neutral in a turn.

First you want to make sure that the thumb latches are not so loose that they can engage themselves by simply bumping them with your hands. Simply put they should tight enough that they stay put unless you intentionally move them. We set them here at the factory so if you not sure you can check a set on your dealers showroom floor. That should give you a good feel for how tight they should be.
