I have a 23HP Kaw. on my Laser. I'm having problems with getting my oil plug out to drain the oil. Does anyone have this problem and why in the world would they make this plug plastic?? The whole head is cracked and I can't get it off!!!

I just don't understand, you build this heavy duty cutting engine and you put a plastic plug on it.

I have the plastic drain plug on my Kawi 15 hp. So far so good with two oil changes, but I agree , why make it out of plastic?

This sounds like something that GRAVEly has done on their new mowers. One of the nice things that GRAVEly did was remove the steel oil drain plug that comes with Kawasaki engines and replace it with a nice metal valve with a hose attached so you could drain the oil without getting it everywhere. Now they have eliminated the steel valve and replaced it with some cheesy plastic slide valve. Anything to save a buck.

Why not make your own plug for it?
