the red max eb 6200 seems like a good one its the most powerful. they make the best blowers i think. shidawia makes them good to but i think red max has more experience.

Echo has come out with a 200mph light weight blower. I like echo equipment. No shandiawi dealer here yet but would like to give them a try too.

I havent tried too many but i can tell you i bought a used red-max 2 years ago and it will still crank on the first 1 or 2 pulls cold...as far as power compared to anything else all i know is it does a great job, the next 1 i buy will be a red max<p>----------<br>CJC Landscape Management<br>Winter Haven, Florida

The EB 6200 Red Max is what we replaced our Shindaiwa with last year. It is lighter and a lot more powerful than our previous blower. When you rev it up full blast, it actually lifts up off my back from the downward thrust of air so it is lighter yet. We have used it one full season with out problems and like it a lot. At the time we got it, the new 62cc Shindaiwa wasn't out yet, so this is why we switched brands of blowers.<p>----------<br>&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.townserver.com/elm/&quot;&gt;Eric@ELM&lt;/a&gt;<br>

I have been using Stihl BR 400's for about 7 years. I like 'em. They are reliable, out of the 4 that I have had, only one ever had a problem, it had a plugged exhaust port when it was about three months old. Remove the spark arrestor and even that want happen. I have thought about trying a the new big Shindaiwa, but I haven't yet. They claim it has more air volume, but I am not sure if it really does.

We have redmax and stihl blowers they both work get. I would say the redmax is better a little stronger. If price is a big part the sthil is a little cheaper around $ 325 or so .

Where can you get them for $325.00? In Fl. they are $400.00 plus tax.

We have Stihl and Echo. The Stihl BR400, we love. It's lightweight and extremely powerful. The Echo PB4600 is powerful but weighs about 5 lbs more. (seems like 20lbs) It has had smoking problems consistantly and will not buy another.

I have 3 BR400/'s and they are nice. From what i have been told and what ive seen they are the lightest most powerfull blowers going. Most big companys around me use the echo PB-400E but i think its is a weak, heavy, dinosaur, but i have seen them fall off the back of trucks going 40 mph and then start right up. If your going to use it i would buy the stihl, if your going to have lots of different people use it buy the echo. Just my opinion good luck

Curlawngreen,<p>If you don't care to buy locally you can call 1-877-367-8776 they can ship it and you will save state sales tax which should save you about $27.00 for shipping and it's priced at $318.00 and who could guess the cost of shipping? Good luck!

We have always used the echo blowers untill 2 years ago. We tried a stihl 400 and loved it. Now its the blower we use as we faze out our echo. The stihl seem to have less problems(except they keep losing the choke knob!), they are lighter, and more powerful.<br>My 2 cents!<br>Mark<p><br>

I have an Echo and a Stihl, when I buy my boat that I've been wanting for the last 20 years I will not have to buy an anchor, already got it covered. It costs 400 bucks and weighs 400 lbs. HEY CURLAWNGREEN look up you will see a address for RUSSO POWER equipment they have the sthil for $ 325.00 or better. They also sell REDMAX as well. For this year REDMAX will be making the engines for shindawa as well as for Stihl. Up here in the chicago area is where you find them for that price..

If they have to pay you and Retro and I a commission they may have to raise their prices.<p>Hey, lets get this out in the open. I receive a 20% comission for all sales I make. I would think they must be paying you and Retro about the same. If they are short changing me please let me know.:)

ashlandscaping;i don,t know who makes the sthills but i know for a fact that redmax does not make engines for shindaiwa, made by shindaiwa shindaiwa, makes the power broom head for redmax, from what i have even being a shindaiwa dealer, redmax makes a good piece of equipment,as there salesman came down last week to demonstrate them<p>----------<br>David Wood<br>

Does Russo have a price list or anything they send out or do you have to call everytime you want to get a price on something. You salesmen seem to have all the prices available. :)<p>Also what all brands do they handle?

ashlandscaping
02-26-2000, 01:19 PM
DAVE<p>Hey Dave the reason Shidawa is makeing the Power Broom for redmax is in trade for thier enegines for a couple of their machines since they didnt pass the emm. test in calf. Reason I know this is since I work with dealers sales in off season. This comes from the Area rep. from Shindawa.<p>Hey Finecut<p>NO I dont get paid by frank and tony at russo or by BOB and Don at ARILINGTON POWER. I like to help others get good deals on equipment. I know how it is to over pay for blowers and mowwers and ect. It robbs from your pocket. I am not out to make a buck by telling some one where they can get a good deal. Iam tring to help my fellow man out not get rich off him. SO AS I SAID I DONT GET PAID TO SPEAK OF ANY DEALERS THAT I TALK ABOUT. In fact the one that I do work for or with I dont even talk about that much. Maybe a couple of times compared to how many poeple I have told about Russo or Arlington.

Finecut
02-26-2000, 03:23 PM
Ashlandscaping,<p>Sorry, but you took that whole post out of context. If you think back about three weeks or so, Retro was accused of getting a commision for sending people to those dealers. I got what I suspect was the same flyers from dealers at Mid Am that Retro has. If you attended the show you were probably offered the same flyers by their sales people. I remember Lazer was also there but don't know if he got flyers or not? I don't get and don't want a commission from either Arlington or Russo's. I also don't think you or Retro receive a commission - that was said tongue in cheek. Please note the smiley face at end of post. I didn't mean to offend you and if you stop to think about how ridiculous a 20% commission (over 60.00) would be, I feel certain it will all fall into perspective. I also like to help people and that was why I responded to that post. I also might mention that both of those dealers sell used equipment also. If you like the prices on new equipment you can bet you will also like the used prices.<br>

Hey FINECUT I didnt see the one towards retro. Hey I was not taking it bad Iam just making sure no one really thinks that way.. So did you like the midam show?? Did you see Halloren Powers booth? He had the Great Dane and the Blizard Plow. Also cares redmax. For all the guy that has that company onwes a landscape company and he puts the equipment to the test to see if it will stand up to his guys. All they use for smaller string trimmers and blowers and hedge trimmers is redmax and they have had very very little problems with them. Hey if they last more then 1 season with his guys they are good machines.

I was thinking we never asked we all just thought that you meant a 2cycle back pack blower. What about a hand held or a gas push blowers. I still would say redmax or stihl for the hand held. What do some others think of push blowers. I have a couple we use them mostly in spring and fall but also for parking lot cleaning. what about others???????

Barkleymut
02-26-2000, 05:29 PM
Little Wonder blowers are the only push blowers I would spend money on. I have a 8 HP Lesco that I bought used (cheap) a couple of years ago. I got a 9 HP Little Wonder this fall. It cut my time in 1/2 on some lawns. Now I can't live without it. It is much more powerful than any other blower I have ever seen.

i cant agree more! i was using a 5hp older model little wander for many years and i was very pleased with it. this past summer i bought the new redesigned little wander 8hp...what a diffrence. throws so much air out you can hardly stand in front of where the air comes out. my dealer explained to me that because the new models fans are much bigger that the new 8hp is like the old 11 and the new 5 is like the old 8. i beleave him! cut my time in half on leaf cleanups. best 800 bucks ive spent in a while

Ashlandscaping<br>are you sure you are not promotting redmax?im am sure i would have gotton a letter from shindaiwa last year like i got for the there powerbroom, and also im am very sure my redmax salesman would have really try to convince me that they are making engines for shindawia, especially after seeing 8 trimmers and three blowers on my wall (wouldn't you }<br>unlkess i here it from shindaiwa directly,i would not believe any area reps, unless he can put it in writing, also redmax is not the only company shindaiwa is marketing the broom for, also as i see it as it doesn,t really matter to me because the markup in this equip.is so little that its not worth getting upset over

I know it's all been said here already. But from my experience and conversation with others, there are 3 blowers that are the ones to buy buy:<p>In this order:<br>Shindiawa EB6300<br>RedMax EB6200<br>Stihl BR400<p>If none of these have local service, a Echo 6000 will do.<p>As far as noise? Get the loud, powerful ones and throttle them down a bit. Make sure you wear earmuffs. With these new blowers everone's mentioned your work is done in no-time anyway.<br>

Hey Dave as far as it goes that what I have been told by a couple of guys. As far as does it make a big diff. to me no. I do perfer the redmax Equipment. I also like stihl if I had a choice it wood be redmax. I have owned a couple shindawa equipment it worked but had problems with it all with first year. Maybe it was a fluk I dont know BUT I still say Shindawa is not a bad piece of equipment. OO and as far as mark up what mark up their is to little to care about. I always thought selling equipment would be a money maker HELL NO. From seeing what they make off machines in the end after putting togethor and everything esle their little profit all the profit comes from service and parts.

I have a Red Max EB 6200, Shindaiwa Eb6300, and a Stihl BR400. The stihl has plenty of power but it is a pain to start no primer bulb. but the Red Max and Shindaiwa are almost identical. But i think the Shindaiwa is built a little better, except for the flex tube I replaced mine with a Redmax one and it hasnt split yet. Also for for push Blowers I like Fradan with a 8HP I/P engine<br>

Barkley, Sunrise, mine does the same thing. I just pull it til it cranks, and it aleays cranks. I never have a problem but the others that try and crank it must be pressing the throttle or something. I never touch anything but the on-off switch and the pull cord. Touch anything else after its been cranked and it will surely flood.<p>Homer

I too had the same problem with with the BR 400 I got a month ago until I leaned how to start it.Homer is right....I have found choke it until it farts {1 or 2 pulls} then no choke and just pull it until it starts.{1 to 3 pulls}Don't mess with anything else.Having a extra plug with you is a good idea just in case. <p>----------<br>John <br>
