I'll trade your kind of hot for my kind of hot here in Houston. What do you say? I sure wouldn't want your winters though.

yeah bobby, I had to quit at 3:00, just too hot, only cut one yard today its huge and takes me 2 hours to mow with a rider, 1hour of push mowing, and 1 1/2 hours of trimming, not to mention I had to put round-up down his long driveway, so I just couldn't go on! DOne for the day!

It was brutal here in NJ today...3 H's...hazy, hot , and humid. I came home around 3:30 and actually fell asleep on the couch for an hour and a half after being on our first lawn at 7:00. Haven't done that in ages...

It was beautiful around these parts today. Some clouds and upper 60's! I could handle this the entire year! Much better than the mid 80's with sun.

How about 106 in Kansas City. Just about every town around here is on water restrictions due to less that 1/2 " rain since end of June. Over 100 degrees 6 days in a row. You guys got it good.

Heat advisery here yesterday. Today was alot cooler with less humidity.

The weatherman showed the doppler radar on the screen and it looked like we were getting slammed with rain, but not a drop was falling! It was all the moisture in the air!!!!

First yard of the day a nice old man that lives there noted that I was drenched and asked if "I Would I like him to use the garden hose and cool me off?"Actually had the hose out and ready to go. First off I hate cold water, second have 8 more to do just like it. Nice thought but no thanks

official national weather surface temperature for yesterday, 95 heat index of 105 to 110 degrees Us? We trimmed and then put mulch aroun 56 shrubs that bordered and/or surrouned a blacktop parkin lot. Man I aint been that hot in years!

Here in Newport its like Pee Supe. It got up to around 90 today, but its full humidity.
Everything is sticking. You cant just open a door, you have to unstick it. My garage floor is sweating so bad, its soaking wet, mixed with oil.
I just suck it up and work in slow Motion. It has to get done. My customers dont care if its hot, they want there lawn mowed period. There all sympathetic when they actually see you out there sweating to death. They offer water and junk. But never the less, you better get my lawn mowed.

I dont mind, because I hate the cold weather, lol. Appreciate all the seasons, because they will be gone soon enough and the next season will be on its way.

Blue Steel, You really PO'ed my wife! She's my partner and we were out for 10 hours yesterday. Got everything done. I guess like the old saying goes ,"If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch with the pups" Matt

bobbygedd
08-23-2003, 08:27 AM
yea, and when there is an ozone warning in effect, stay on the porch, or get skin cancer. i can deal with the heat, man i wipe my rear with sand paper, with thumb tacks too, but when the sun is so hot, its frying your skin like bacon, time to go to the porch, blend up a pitcher of margahritas, and talk trash. i always wondered, if using alot of sun block every day was also a health hazard
