View Full Version : CustomRide Exmark Seat
I am looking to see if anyone has purchased or tried the new CustomRide seat offered by Exmark. I would like a little feed back before I buy one. Also, what do these units run?

I was at the Exmark dealer Saturday and was asking ?'s. I also inquired about the suspension seat because I'm looking into getting a Lazer and I've heard some people say the stock seats give a pretty rough ride. He told me that the seat upgrade went for approx. $500.00  . I don't know if that includes an entire new seat or just the suspension base. Seems pretty darn pricey to me. I think if I get a Lazer, I'll be roughing it with the stock seat.

If you are only doing residentials, and only 1 acre or less then the stock seat is ok. IF you are sitting in the seat for an hour or more at a time, or have some rough yards, spend the bills and get the suspension seat.
My new machine is standard with a suspension seat I like it so well I bought one for my other mower!!
I have several LARGE accounts 4-10 acres and a regular seat will beat you up before the your done with them.

I installed a suspension seat kit on my lazer... Looks like the small pic above the pic of lazer.
The suspension seat kit cost me 199.00 and change. You use the seat that came with your lazer and mount the kit under the seat, adjust it. I must say it was the best 200 clams I ever spent..:D :D
I am really happy with the seat and the lazer now. It will help to smooth out the rough terrain that are the lawns we cut everyday.

Simone,
I think you and the dealer are talking about two different things. Maybe the dealer was talking and pricing the deluxe full suspension seat upgrade ($500 - $600) and you were talking about just the suspension bracket ($200) installed under the original seat.

I did the field testing for the suspension last season and this season. It is impossible to now go back to the stock way. Its $200 for the picture posted above and well worth the money. You can adjust the ride you want.
I highly suggest this upgrade. It makes a big difference.
Exmark Lazer HP (2003), purchased the $200 suspension upgrade. Makes an already comfortable seat even better, really smooths out a rough lawn. Has only one adjustment and that is "soft' or "firm" (knob turns a screw that adjusts spring tension for your weight). Took about 30 minutes to install and I cant say enough good things about the improved ride.

I also highly recommend the suspension. It definitely makes for a much smoother ride. Money very well spent.
