Set up my 1000gc balancer this weekend. Boy what a difference!
I normally run doubles on my DC and I knew the blades were quite out of balance. When I engaged the blades, there was a noticable vibration.
Well, I sharpened and balanced all 6 blades and the vibration is totally gone. Before, I would run about 3400 rpm while cutting... Simply balancing the blades brings that up to 3500+ rpm!
Well worth the investment!

I'm glad to hear that you have been able to improve your equipment and MOST IMPORTANTLY your performance with our equipment as many others have.
Why don't you let the other lawnsite members know how you checked/measured your RPM.

Gerd, most Dixie Choppers have a hour/rpm LCD display. When I run the engine at full throttle, it runs about 3800 rpm (Blades not engaged). Dixie states that cutting below 3500 will deteriorate the quality of cut.
Since I received my 9000 sharpener before the balancer, I sharpened all blades -- which produced a definite improvement in cut. However, I still noticed that the deck would engage and run with considerable vibration.
After sharpening the blades once more and balancing each, engaging the blades had NO vibration. The machine ran much smoother and even a little quieter.
In both cases, I cut at 3.5" and the grass was about 4-5".
Before balancing the rpms would run around 3500. After 3600+!
I'm sure that the vibration would reduce spindle, belt, pulley, and engine life.
What a difference. Great product :)
