hello,

I just bought a new F250 PowerStroke and I am thinking of running Dello 400 15w40 oil like we run in our 7.3 International 4700. Anyone running this oil in their PSD? If not, what is everyone running?

THanks

i have 3 psd's i only use rotella 15/40 you can buy it at a good price at bj's wholesale club. go to dieselstop.com and you will be enlighten, they are having problems with the fuel injectors with the new engine. you will love this truck once you own a diesel you will never want a gas truck again. lets see some photos ,good luck

in my own truck I use Mobil 1540 from costco since its a very good price. i still get the filter from walmart, and get the air and fuel from DIS or other online sources.

in the company trucks I use napa's oil. sometimes shop around, and sometimes bite the bullet and buy from NAPA or ford.

as long as you keep the oil in there, the psd will keep ticking. I have a truck 12 years old in the fleet and its still cruising along.

i use napa filters and valvaline 15w40 it meets mack and navastar requirments i have a 7.3. the engine blew all the oil gallery plugs out of the top of the engine what a mess ford did fix it but i still have oil on the top under the turbo and cant get it out so it smells like oil when i have the heat on

About how long does it usually take to "break in" a PSD? Ford said about 1500 miles but I was wondering what you all have found. I just burnt my 1st tank of fuel and got about 10mpg pulling my 20' enclosed trailer and driving empty around town. As of now it has almost 400 miles on it.

I am on my second PSD and from what i hear it generally takes about 50,000 miles before the quit burning oil and you get your best gas mileage. They are great trucks. I also run Rotella

Mine has 63,000 miles on it. Driving empty I get 16mpg. I haven't checked it just pulling my lawn trailer, but pulling a 3-horse slant gooseneck trailer I get 12mpg.
