you gotta bring this guy with you?
If so do you like him and mind driving 100 miles with the guy? I would charge 30.00 per hour plus gas. you have to get piad for your time because you could be working at another job making money rather than driving this guy around. so make sure you get paid whatever you get an hour cause time is money, if not with this guy you caold be making it somewhere else.

Fifty cents a mile to the truck and $20/hour on a rainy day of your choice. Then plant the stuff as soon as you return.

Big shock there. An Indian hotel owner. His last name Patel? LOL
50 bucks for the vehicle + $50 for your time + whatever charge for planting the stuff. Charge good money for that, because you are not going to make jack from the plant sales.

Geez keith-you too?
Guy at the best western here is a Patel; must be Indian for "tight a**".
Never met one yet that didn't want $100 worth of work done for $20, & wanted top dollar for their roach motel rooms.
Tell them you need XXX amt. to do what ever you're getting into, & get it agreed upon AHEAD OF TIME.
They will use & abuse you every chance they get-speaking from experience of myself & others also.
I don't even give them bids anymore; take your diaper-head family back home where you belong. sorry if I'm short on compassion, but they've used it all & then some.

Your hourly rate from time you start to time you get back, plus $.35 per mile. That is just to get them.
The way it is SUPPOSED to work is like this:
Customer calls you and wants XXX plants. You go to wholesale nursery and buy XXX plants for $200. You delliver to customer, charge them $400 plus the planting. There, you got paid for your time to go and get them AND your time to install them. Your final price to the customer, ($400 in this example) should be slightly higher than what they can purchase them from at a local garden nursery.

If I get a request for a quote that is outside of my normal service area I always add 50 cents per mile coming and going. I also try to get $60/hour for any work that I do. Never quote per hour prices. By the way the only Indian family that I work for is very nice and pays on time every time.

he said next week i think hes not going to the orice i qoated was $35 hour .35 mile oooh well
I've had 8 Indian customers over the past 6 years. No more, never again. They'll start off by having you cut the lawn once a week. Then they'll say come every other week. You'll have to cut it high, but they won't like that. They'll wait till your done then say cut it lower. They are never happy with the work that you do. I had one of them pay me in rolls of quarters. There was always 2 quarters missing in every roll.

Yea, I had a customer who was indian (not american) and was a PITA! I think he planted a new tree or bush in the lawn every week! It's funny, I was doing his lawn per month at $140, he commented on day that another guy came by and said he would do it for $100! I said that's great because I'm going up another $15 so he needed to make a choice.....WhooHooo he picked the other guy! See ya!

well all sounds good but , i really don,t see the big deal about customers linage, people are people if they sign a contract that is simple to read it holds up in court.whether
their this, that or the other.... i don't really see what that has to do with it .i have and had customers of all back grounds some are good folks and some are just plain idiots, why break it down to sterotype.. if you do that what happens when lets say an indain doctor wants to pay you $$$$
to maintain their place you allready have a preseptive tthought about them....sam walton was very rich and worn old blue jeans and drove and old truck.I think by doing this we kinda short change our selves, soory i just had to vent its just one of my pet pevs..besides all kinds of people read things from here, i would hate to think that a potenial customer reads a post that degrades their background cuase that person definlity won,t call.money is money and people are people. life would be very boring if everyone was the same uh? after all when life ends everyone has the same opertunity to stay whithin the same pearlly gates.

I'm not saying all Indian customers are bad, I just haven't had a good one yet. Another Indian called me out to cut his over-grown 15,000sqft. lawn. He said he would pay me in cash. A whopping $15. I told him I wouldn't even do the front lawn for $15.
