View Full Version : Take On This Account???
LAWNS AND MOWER

OK Here's the deal. Tenants moved into this house beside an account I already mow. Yard is horrible. 30 minutes with the 21 inch mower (hilly) and 30 minutes weedeating (hilly). Been in this biz for 17 years, so I'm picky on what I take on. Under normal circumstances, I would turn this account down in a NY second. But here's the kicker.............................................................................................. .................
these tenants happen to be 2 female college students. 20 years old, drop dead gorgeous, Playboy material co-eds. :blob2: :blob2: Take on this account?????

Personally I have managed to grow up an run my business. I have a wonderfull and beutifull wife to come home to. I do like any man like eye candy but most of all you said you mow next to it( you get it any ways). Make a buck and charge them what it is worth. Just cause they are in bikinis in walmart doesnt mean they get a discount.

Which head are you thinking with?
Why not treat them and the situation as you would any other client/yard you bid on?
If you're a player, then you've already answered your own question. If you're a businessman, then act like it. My life gets too complicated on its own without me going out of my way to make it even more so.
They're students, so they won't be there for long, right? Doubt their funds are going to include much for lawn service. Will most likely have very eager and energetic friends that'll be more than happy to cut their grass.

As a single man I would have to say yes. As a business man I would still have to say yes. Keep in mind they are young, and college students. That screams one thing to me, "BILL IN ADVANCE"! They have no problem spending daddy's money on things like clothes, alcohol, and the bar scene, but when it comes to paying for lawn service.............you're the last thing on their minds.

You dont have a future with them....either as a service provider....or personally.....you're too old for them...hah.
As mentioned, I'd be surprised if they pay you on time...if they pay you at all
And what happens if your customer next door finds out you're giving your work away given how much time it takes you to do their property? Neighbors DO compare notes on what we charge them

bid it like a normal house. no matter who lives there, you still have to mow the same lawn. If the tenants happen to be attractive, then that's a plus for viewing purposes.
Just don't be let down when their college football stud boyfriends show up and take your dream womem away!

Wishful thinking. You take the job and every time you pull up to do the lawn the girls and a couple of close friends are laying around catching a few rays.
Reality. They are there for two weeks waiting for their place to be available and the two middle aged gay men who live there come back from holidays. And they believe that "swinging" a deal with the cute lawn boy is just good business.

Why don't some of you guys get a sense of humor. GEEEZZZZZ Lighten up!!!!!! Some of you sound like your wives have their hands in your back making you "say the right thing".
If I see a 100 dollar bill laying on the ground, should I pick it up?
NO way because the rightful owner might come along looking for it and if you pick it up, he will not be able to find it.

Just so you know;
My wife has no control over what I say, nor I her. Oh, and I do love my wife, and no, she has no interest in reading this or any other forum.
$100 on the ground, yes, I'm going to pick it up. It's lost right. BTW, what on earth does that have to do with the subject of the thread? NOTHING!
I didn't take the original post as a joke, it was a question posed as 'I wouldn't normally consider this account, but because there's eye candy involved I might. What do you think?'
So every post was an opinion as to what each thinks of the situation. Except for yours, and you just want to bash all that don't voice an opinion similar to a single person on the prowl.
I really do see this as a potential problem account, when a professional LCO says he shouldn't but will because of the physical attributes of the clients. He'll either lose time and/or money, and possibly even more because of his mental approach to the situation.
I'm not trying to put anyone down nor display any type of attitude, just recommending a business approach.

Amen Rustic! I'm single, but when I'm working I have to consider the job first. I'm out here to make a living, and if I get a great view that's a bonus. Professionalism is more important to me than eye candy. I'm 36 years old, and really don't have a lot of interest in an immature 18-20 yr old co-ed. I don't bash those of you who still have the "Donald Trump syndrome" and ask that you show me the same respect that I show you. After all, how many $billions$ has Donald lost to his libido?

Holy tight --- Batman..... You are wound way too tight. You should ask your wife if it's ok for you to have some fun once and a while. You sound like you are stressed to the max. Maybe she could take her thumb off of you for a sec and you could chill out.
As far as the refrence to the 100 dollars.... It was a JOKE. Sorr, I forgot that your wife was holding youir sense of humor until such time that she sees fit for you to use it. Maybe she will say something funny and she will let you laugh at that.
OR NOT.

To Lucky and all that are having their own brand of fun poking 'fun' and insulting what you assume my wife's and my relationship is all about.
I remind those that can't stand the thought of a married couple actually getting along, I have not made derogatory remarks about any of you personally in this thread. So why are y'all finding it necessary to slam me and or my marital relationship, which you know less than nothing about?
Lucky, I don't think your $100 remark was originally meant as a joke, you would have followed it with a smilie. More like failed sarcasm.
BTW- I have no blood pressure, hypertension, or stress related problems. I am not "wound up" over this issue as implied, if I were, you'd know it.
I guess it's the juvenile type mindset that drives some of you to make fun of things/opinions you don't agree with. So with that in mind, I'll just ask you to GROW UP.
Unless it's in the off topic forum, joking around in general, or we know each other well enough to joke in such a manner, which we DON'T, then I do take these types of remarks as very insulting.
For the forum's sake, if you don't agree with an opinion or topic given, handle it in a responsible manner, go after the topic not the person with insults.
Mr Lucky
09-26-2003, 06:36 AM
So you want to slam me. If the truth didn't hurt, then you would not have made a feble attempt to take a shot at me. By the way I have never seen a screen name that fit a person more than yours.
I will make no more shots at you Rustic Goat..... It is no fun destroying an unarmed man.

OK OK OK..... gee whiz. All of this over something that was, I think, posted as somewhat of a joke.
I would think that it was meant as "if you had a chance to mow a nudist colony and it payed $1000 dollars a cut would you take it.
Well of course it would depend on how many acres it was, not how naked the people were.
I did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings. I am very sorry Mr. Goat. If I had known that you were gonna get so bent outta shape I would not have said anything. As for anyone else, just jump on my butt if you want.......by golly I can take it.
In fact start a "bash Mr. Lucky thread" if you want. Someone posting some junk about me here will not change the amount of work I have to do when I get up in the morning.
Again Mr. Goat...I apologize.

Lawns and Mower,
First it was Grandma cooking a meal that smelt oh so good. Now it's hot college chicks! Both work up your appetite huh?
:( Sadly Grandma didn't offer you any and the college girls might not either
Poor feller, you're starving to death.
That reminds me, I owe you lunch don't I? Since there is 2 of them, I'll ride up and over lunch we can work up a "proposal" a "maintenace" shedule a "service" agreement and an annual "payment" plan, which will be due and collectable weekly of course!
:D :D :D
Hopefully they will "pounce" on the offer. Just in case, I'll buy us some food for strenght. We can't go over there and "work" all evening on an empty stomach.
