Looking for your opinions on how late you can lay sod and the time windows for seeding new yards. Its getting late here in northern Illinois and we've still got plenty of grass to get in. Any thoughts?
Really it's getting late for seed but we are still putting it in, sod we run until the frams close down sometime after the frost stays in the ground

Agree, too late for seed in Midwest, but you can sod whenever you can get it. Many yrs ago a landscaper nearby got a semi load of sod for a big job next day. That nite temps tumbled, and sod was frozen on truck for several weeks. When it thawed, he sent crew to lay it, and it turned out fine.
