Sharpening Hedge Trimmers

How often should you have your hedge trimmers sharpened. Does any one sharpen their hedge trimmers them selves if so what do you use or are their specials tools.

you could probably do it with a dremel tool

I use a die grinder with a small grinding disc on it. Works great.

i have. carefully remove the 3 piece blades from the gear box. watch that springs and gears dont fall out. seperate the bars and sharpen the edges with a flat hand file. sharpen only where there is an edge (angle). dont try to sharpen the flat areas. wear gloves...sharp stuff...good luck
