Good Deal on Mitsubishi Fuso , Or Not?

I found a '95 Mitsubishi FE SP 14500 GVW Diesel, Auto, Air 130,000.

Heres the catch, the engine is shot. It also needs a windshield, and 3 tires.
Other then that its in really good shape. It's only a Cab-chassis, no body.

I don't know if the engine could be rebuilt or not...I pulled the dip stick, and it was bone dry. It used to have a refrigeration body on it, a produce company had it.

I can get it for $900.00. I'm seriously considering it, figured I'd check out some sites for info and maybe a price on a used engine. :cool:

Anyone have any info on these trucks?

maybe try jasper engines. we had a ford diesel go bad, and now have a rebuilt jasper in there. don;t know the cost or much about the mishus.

With the obvious lack of maintenance this vehicle has had, what else may take a dump down the road once you get a motor for it? Trans, rear end, steering components. What about the costly injectors and pump, those surely are junk as well, or getting close.

Sounds like a turd to me. So for $900, you are merely buying a project that you will continually stick money into.

Sounds like a parts truck, whats left to it, that may be good.

I purchased an 03 FE SP and must say I love it. Its a great truck......not sure on the engine rebuild though.
