I have a Toro pro-line 44" walk behind, gear-driven, not hydro. The mower has the T-bar control. It has four forward speeds.
Do I cause excessive damage or wear to the drive belts, or any other parts, if I have it in the highest gear (fastest speed) but the T-bar is not pressed all the way forward. In other words, I am going slower than the max speed. I go slower when I am going around trees and obstacles. Rather than stopping and shifting to a lower gear, I ease off the T bar.
Does this cause any problems?
Thanks.
Bob
