I have several plants that have been outdoors for the summer, and am now moving them in to a sun porch. When I did this last year, we became infested with tiny aphid-like insects that quickly spread to all plants, damaging them and creating a sticky mess. What would be the recommended method (spray) that would ensure that this is not transfered into the house again? Any specific or general comments (and or suggestions) would be appreciated. Thanks

First of all you need to state what kind of plants. Next you need to be sure of what kind of pest you really have.

Regarding the types of plants, there are many---everything from flowering planter boxes, geraniums, colius, ivy's, begonias, petunias, etc. Isn't there a general spray that will cover most everything?

1-2 tsp of Ivory dish soap to 1 gal of water.
Spray the leaves (underneath esp) of infested plants. Aphids and other soft-bodied insects will die!

Yep, most any surfactant will do.
