Eastern boxelder bug. Harmless, they are just an annoyance. As the weather starts to turn colder, they are attracted to warm sunny areas, like the sides of buildings.
I have one property that they gather on, every year like clock work. Like Rtom45 said, the gather on the warms sides of buildings in swarms!

A few weeks back the local paper had a article about bugs. They showed a pic that looked like the bug in your first post, said it was a stink bug.

As far as i know its a box elder bug. They are easy enough to kill but take a bit longer. I was told by our local extension service that they have to ingest to die but considering the clean themselves immediately after spraying that doesnt take long.

I spayed perimeter sprayed Talstar around a house of a customer who wanted them gone and they were very pleased with the results. I was afraid of spraying them off only to have them invade from the neighbors who are very close, but the residual of the Talstar must have done the trick. Also took care of the crickets which were extremely thick this year. Profit margin on this type of treatment is also good.

The stink bugs have infested my school this year. People open the windows and there are no screens and so they fly in. Where did they get their name from, they dont smell?
