View Full Version : Vac systems, and mowing without the bags?

Rather then removing the discharge tube, belt, and impeller, do any of you just remove the cloth bags and discharge through the unit? It seems like it would break up the grass and or leaves better, or are there problems with going this route? It seems like it would be a better method, though things are not always as they might appear.
Thanks for your thoughts

The only problem I can see with that is if the wind was blowing behind you it might plaster your engine really bad with grass. Other than that though it seems like it would work well. I have seen it done many times on JD tractors.

Ive done it a few times,, just lazy i quese . It only takes 30 seconds too remove. But it works with just taeking the bags off.
If you leave the hood down it doesnt spray all over as bad. If you lift the hood then it sprays out the left side more and you have too becarefull what you hitting with it... ie houses, cars...etc...
but it works... It does break up the grass or leaves more doing it that way....
hope this helps..
