I did 2 fall clean-ups today. No leaf diposal, and no bagger.

Thank god for reverse!

Anybody got any tricks or tips for someone who has a zero steer with no bagger?

I have a Hustler Shortcut with a 54 DC deck that I put a mulch kit on. Even when I did not have a mulch kit I used reverse when I got down to the las little bit of leaves in the middle of the yard. Reverse works for me when needed. Oh my other trick is if I get a really big pile of leaves up I just ride a wheelly right through the pile. I just pretend I am riding my 4 wheeler:D

go around in circles until you have them in the center, then tarp and haul away

Buy a bagging unit. Problem solved. Leaves can be profitable if you have the setup.

If you do not have a bagger, put gator blades on and start by doing the perimeter first. Get the leaves in the center of the lawn and start running them over. Start at the highest setting for the deck and work your way down. Finally with the leaves mulched down I start at one end and do small strips of leaves so that they have to run through all three blades before being discharged.

This has worked well for people that don't want to pay for removal.

My advice to you is to invest in a muching kit and a bagger if possible.

But this a very good alternative if you cannot afford them.
