We are in Austin and the towns north......
We have a few good relationships with other LCOs and have benefited from them.
Any of you guys out there interested in doing a bit of networking?
thill

Hey folks, seven of you looked. Surely we are no gonna let them guys up north (Dallas/Fort Worth area) have all the fun?
I typically don't work in Austin, usually west of the Perdenales through the Hill Country.

SWD,
Nice to sorta meet ya. Thanks for the reply.
We are beginning to bracket Austin itself.
Surely, there are others in and around Austin that might be interested in sharing ideas and experiences. AND.. you never know, but I bet we can even help each other from time to time
Tom
Tom, you can call with questions, my cellular # is 830-305-0339.
With regards to work, I'm open towards an ameiable relationship with another LCO.

Hello Jay,
Thanks for the input and the address. I searched for Austin but missed the thread you mentioned. I probably didn't go back far enough. Will look again.
Our company name is WE MOW IT PLUS .... and our geographic areas are similar. We also are working on getting an irrigation group ready to launch.
Commercial is our stronger suite right now. We hope to balance it out with a heavier push for residential.
Give us a shout any time for any reason.

Good to kinda sorta meet you also Tom!
Hey quick question, who do you get your equipment from in these parts?
thill
02-09-2004, 05:21 PM
Luv,
We get all of our Shindaiwa equipment from Austin Outdoor Power on North Lamar. We have also purchased Gravely from them. We get good service there. If you call them , ask for Louie (tell him I sent you and he will double the price <grin>). Seriously, he has gone out of his way for us.
We have purchased SCAG from Georgetown Outdoor Power. Haven't tested the service much.
Both are pretty far north from ya.

Welcome LovinTheHeat!
Soon June, July & August will be upon us! "The burning sands" of Texas lawn care!
We just began using S & G Lawn Mowers, located in North Austin. They were previously located in the Bee Caves area for 15 years. They are re-estabilishing, so you get personal service.
Tom,
We still gotta get a meeting going before March Madness. Don't know where I will find time, but I will make it.
Jay
With the rain we've been receiving, everyone should be nice and rested.
I'm open to a meeting, however, this week is cooked due to inlaws being here.
Also, I have to go to Laredo to deliver a piece of equipment I sold.
For the best Gravely dealer in central texas, go to BGS&Co on hwy 281 in Marble Falls. From Bee Caves it is only about 25 mins. Great people, even better service.
For a meeting place, does everyone know of Rosies Tamale house in BeeCaves? Good food, cheap, and easy access.
Take it easy
Steve

We have also used BGS & Co in Marble Falls, yup - the service there was extraordinary.
I think the owner's name is Jim. The drive is the main reason we have not continued to go there.
I think it would be great to have a get together. There is never a good time, so if you guys start zeroing in on a time, I'll make my schedule work.

Thill, I'm in the Copperas Cove, Killeen, Harker Heights area. Looking to expand this year both geographicly as well as company wise. My biggest problem has been dealer support until now. My local repair shop who happens to be a great guy you can trust just told me he will be carring Toro commercial equip. starting in March. I am excited, there is no good trustworthy dealers in the Copperas Cove/Killeen area until now.

If you guys decide to have a get-together and set a day, keep it posted. I think it's a good idea and would be intrested in attending.
Sounds like were cookin' now.
This weekend through Pres. Day I'm out of town.
Following weekend should be okay.
Only two more things to clear up -
time and amount of guys who plan on attending. I can try to arrange tables so we don't end up with a last minute cluster **** on our hands.
Later
Steve
Folks, I have repaired small engines over the years and decided to expand a little. I can take care of the edgers, weed wackers, and smaller engines. The very large Scags, etc. I shy away from as I don't have direct experience. Perhaps I will get the opportunity down the road.
If you live in the Round Rock area (Forest Creek) I would like to earn you business. I charge $37.50/hr. plus parts.
Call John at 512-658-5190 (cell) or 512-246-7945.
Thanks.

We have to go do some "spring clean" up in the morning, so let's shoot for late after noon (2-4)?

My two sons and I operate a lawn maintenance business out
of North Austin. We have been in the business over 20 years.
We purchase all our equipment from McCoys in north Austin
off 183 near Peyton Gin. They are the top Scag outlet in
Central Texas, but handle other brands. On March 5 they are
having a large sales day with all the sales people in town, and
free lunch.

02-13-2004, 10:54 PM
Howdy Ed2hess!
Yeah, I bought some echo 2 cycles there last year and meet the exmark area distributor. Thanks for the date on the next open house. The 5th is a Friday, will they have a Saturday show?
Do you run Hess Lawn care?
thill
02-13-2004, 11:50 PM
Another howdy Ed2hess....
Ditto what Jroctx said, thanks for the date on the sales day at McCoys.
We will try to go see how that one goes
Tom
Well, it's tuesday and I'm back in town.
Had a blast in Mexico with the wife, now it's time to go back to work.
So, everyone pretty much agreeing to Saturday, 21 Feb?
All we need is a time, and amount of guys.
Anyone closer to Rosies Tamale house in Bee Caves than me? I'm about 25 mins away.
Hey everyone, if you can (or want to), bring the wives/family with you - I'd mention girlfriends as well but the wives might fight with them:)
LovinTheHeat
02-17-2004, 06:55 PM
I am about 15 minutes from Bee Caves and Rosie's. I'll try for Saturday, a while at least. Keep me posted
Jroctx
02-18-2004, 01:37 PM
I looked up Rosies Tamale and there are 2 on Hwy 71, are you refering to either of those? I'm up in RR, I think Thill is also. It would take me about 45 mins. to get out there.
Jroctx
02-18-2004, 01:42 PM
...and the wife is sick of hearing about lawn care. She has enjoyed the slower period and does not want to embrace me being gone again from sun-up to sun-down, which will soon be upon us! About another month before time spring forward???
Needless to say, may be hard to get her out to meet other LCO's :)
Yes, there are two Rosies on hwy71 - one is a fast stop type taco house, the other is the main, sit down restaurant.
I am referring to the main restaurant.
From Round Rock, say I35 and 620, your about 30 mins from Rosies.
Any input on time for the meet?

SWD,
Is anyone else gathering, if not want to move it out another weekend? We have some clean ups hope to be through in enough time to clean up and be down there by 3. Provided it's still on.
Big Ed,
No sir, but thanks for the link I will forward it to my brother in Atlanta. He is aspiring in that area.
Ah, what the heck, if we don't try anything now, we'll never get together.
If you can make it, we'll see you there - if not, we can pm or call each other.
Well, apparently no one could make it.
You all missed a good feed though.

SWD!
I owe you lunch or breakfast. My partner had something come up and could not join me until half-way into the day. That and a neighbor of a client requesting our service threw me way off schedule. Didn't have a number to call anyone. No excuss, just the reason I didn't show.
I'm hoping to throw a bbq at my house to kick of the season about the 20th of March. Let me know if anyone is interested.
Jroctx,
let me know when the bbq is going to be - I'll scooter out there.
If you ever get around Bee Caves, eat at Rosies - good food, good prices.
thill
02-25-2004, 10:26 PM
SWD ..... me too, Sorry we did not make it. Do ya reckon Rosie's has any tamales left for another try later?
Our largest commerical client came up with a major clean up late in the week. We had to use Saturday to finish it.
When the big dog barks......... but the money is good.

Irrigation - Slaughter Lane and Brodie area
SWD, Jroctx, or anyone else
I am still not certified to do irrigation work. I have to take one stinking module again.
I have a friend who needs some sprinkler work. From his description, it appears that the company who installed it designed for cost not coverage. He has some serious dry spots and may need an additional zone or two.
If anyone is interested and works that far south, please e-mail me for info.
Tom (thill@teamsource.com)

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Spring time has us all chasing our tails.
