I have been tossing the idea around in my head for sometime, and I figured I would run it by you guys, to see if there was any intrest. I know there are many people on Lawnsite from the Mid-Atlantic and surrounding areas. I was thinking about organizing some type of get together in Mid-December or January after the holidays. I would arrange a party somewhere near Baltimore off of 95 near BWI airport. I think it would be great to meet some of you guys in person. We could probably even talk STONE into coming down from Jersey and Kirby from Carolina. I cold talk to Kirby about bass fishing. I might have to look you up Kirby next time I am bringing my SKEETER down in the Carolinas. My wife is from Jersey so I am sure Stone and her could understand each other, with their accents. Just kidding of course. What do you guys think? I plan on getting together with a few guys for a beer or soda when things slow down. Just looking for some input and if there would be an intrest.
On paper it sounds great. You would have to come up with a date, so we could make plans. What kind of location would it be held in? Hotel, restaurant? I think the snow plow forum tried to have a BBQ, but I don't know what the outcome was. I'm about an hour away in Delaware. Stone can pick me up on the way down!

I'll empty out the truck bed and hook up the trailer for the beer runs. Date and time
I thought Stone was from PA? The snowplow one was a success I thought, although it turned into more of a product Expo than just a Lawnsite BS session and some non LS folks were invited. Pick a date & go for it. People will probably go.

I doubt you'd want to go fishing on the bay in Jan/Feb. You're not allowed to catch Stripers then and it get a wee bit rough at times. Brr...

I own a carpet cleaning company. Just getting into lawncare. Because its my passion.
For 2 years now we have had a summerfest. Some of the guys are from the 60s. We just got together in atlanta. Carpet cleaners from all over the country showed up. The first year even some aussies arrived.
My suggestion is to have 2 or 3 guys organize this. We had equipment demos . Shared ideas about marketing managment.
The trade mags were all for it too.
You would be suprised how many people will come from all across the country. Dont disclude people from outside of the east. Im new to this industry. I would love to meet some veterans and talk about lawncare.

Late jan. or feb. would be cool, usually pretty slow unless it's snowing. Stones atlantic city idea sounds good. i'm about an hour from Baltimore, but willing to drive another couple hours if y'all want to meet up there!

Yes, I'll help with this project also. As some have already mentioned, its been talked about some and seems like a good thing to do. MANTS is in Baltimore at the same time as the Turf Conference that Stone mentioned. Also, the recertification classes for the DC area will be Jan. 16, 17, 18 and I'm working on that. I'm willing to drive a few hours to the location. Seems like we need to make a data base of interested members with their geographical locations. Maybe several gatherings around the country could be planned to happen concurrently so we could set up web cams and all see each other! Bet that would be good for a few grins!

Have any of you been to the PA Turf Conference? It has a big expo area besides the classes. There is also some free time scheduled in between. I'll be there also. Like the FLA idea also!

Hey Kevin I plan on leaving for FLA right after the Pa Turf conference is over. I figure since I will be a 100 miles farther south I might as well just keep on trucking.
I might have room for a passenger for who ever wants to split the costs. I have old full size Chrysler with real comfy seats. The road trip will last 3-4 weeks and I plan on taking a 7 day cruise out of FLA in that time frame.
There is a glut of ships on the market and there are 7 day cruises available for as little as $259 PP+port taxes.

OHHHH, What a wonderful summer. Quite an improvement from last year. I lost 4 or 5 cuts a day last year to drought. I didn't lose a single one this year, plus my lawns look twice as nice and they give me the credit!
