or your shoulders are so tensed up from wearing a lovely 25# machine for 8 hours.

When your psychiatrist shows you ink blots and you suggest they all look like what you hanky looked like after blowing your nose at the end of the day cleaning up leaves.

You know your doing cleanups when....

It's freaking 6:00pm, you can't see a freaking thing, your sucking up leaves, and the freaking truck that the freaking leaf vac is on just got freaking full and you still have a freaking pile of freaking leaves that you still have to freaking pick up. Now your in the back of the freaking truck, in the nasty freaking leaves, freaking jumping around just so you can freaking fit more freaking leaves in to finish the freaking job and go the freak home and take a nice hot freaking shower just to freaking do it all over again the freaking next day. Oh yeah, and at that point you are definitely not saying "freaking".

11-08-2003, 11:17 PM
or, you start with 3 and end up with 5

11-08-2003, 11:31 PM
You know it's fall cleanup time when the rich people take their cars out of the parking lot until your done! Today, BMW 5 series man pulls out, notices I'm coming in the lot to start cleanups. An hour later he pulls back in and I'm working on his lot - He takes off again and finally returns after his lot is spotless.

OOOO' Please.................:blob4:

You know that kid on Charlie Brown.... the one with a walking dust cloud around him??? Thats what I feel like walking in the door at night! "A PIGPEN"

11-08-2003, 11:46 PM
when you dump the leaves out of you wallet and find three $200 checks, and a hand full of cash, and a list of possible new customers for next year.:blob3: :D

then you have to call the origional customers on your list and explain your self.:(

Bobbygedds: You are right on the money:D

It has happened both ways to me.

11-08-2003, 11:57 PM
You know it's fall clean-up time when:

It's about 8:00 am and your first customer says:

" I thought you were gonna wait for all the leaves to fall"

11-09-2003, 12:50 AM
you know its fall cleanup when:

you are mulching leaves and three immigrants from the south cut a gas line in half while making a flower bed and the whole street gets shut down blocked off by fire trucks. you sit there three hrs. until its repaired and you can start your mower and be gone.

I'll tell when your doing fall clean -ups is when ...You ask all of you part time helpers to help you with a big job. An they all say no,,,when you paying them 10.00$ per hr to help you mow, an 15.00$ to put F^%&*() Leaves on a tarp an drag them to the woods.........you get all kinds of reasons !!!!!!!!!NOW wonder the MEXICANS are getting all the (grunt ...general laber stuff in this country)Hell..most white folks will not work

11-09-2003, 06:58 AM

Wind to back.......good.....blow the leaves thata way.

Now wind in face.......OK.........blow them that way..........

Now wind hits you from the side and what was in front of you is now back all over the lawn again.

30 minutes runs into an hour...........you leave and it looks like you never came.

11-09-2003, 08:42 PM
When you turn on your heater and nothing but leaves comes out of the vents.

11-09-2003, 08:46 PM

You said it like no other! Yesterday was NW wind, today is SW winds. Grumble, Grumble grrrrrumble.

11-09-2003, 09:28 PM
you know you've been doing fall clean-ups when...

you find yourself outside an hour after dark still blowing leaves that you can't see because you dread returning the next day to finish

you find that the floor mats in your truck have been replaced with several inches of maple leaves

you find yourself dreaming of snow so all these leaves will dissapear

11-09-2003, 09:52 PM
When your done with a leaf cleanup and you have your magnificent 30 foot long neat pile in the street and your staring down the neighborhood kids with the look of death.. And you know they are just waiting for you to leave so they can freak it all up.

11-09-2003, 10:24 PM
You know its leaf cleanup season when you keep thinking the phone is ringing, then realize its just your ears ringing.

When you go into the corner store to buy a cup of coffee and everyone looks at you like you just stepped out of a smoke stack, and you smell like it too.

When you start cursing at the wind.

You wanna hear something crazy though, I actually don't mind the leaves. Its great money, the lawns look great right now, and the townships around hear have curbside pickup. Hang in there, Winter is almost here.

Stihl backpack......$420.00

11-10-2003, 06:13 PM
when you are working about a half mile from the truck, are sure you have plenty of gas in the tank, and all of a sudden it dies....you first say s---...then you remember that the vac system drains it a whole lot faster....happened about 3 hours ago...what an idiot I am

11-10-2003, 06:21 PM
You have to use twice as much shampoo cause of all the leaf dust in your hair.

You know its clean-up time when your leaf pile is bigger than your brush pile at your dump site.

You know its clean-up time when you accidentally catch your leaf pile on fire with your truck exhaust at your dump site backing up on the pile because you don't want to push the pile up with the Bobcat cause it hasen't been above 45 in a week.:D

When you are sucking up the last bit of the day (in the dark)and you can see the leaf dust burning on top of the vacs muffler.

When you can't wait for some other season to start!

You know you've been doing fall cleanups when you blow your nose, and it looks like you've been snorting tobacco spit.

You know you've been doing fall cleanups when you fart dust.:D

11-10-2003, 09:06 PM
You know you've been doing clean-ups when:

You can tell which leaves belong to which tree. Even after they've been shredded into dime size chunks.

You ask your coworkers to smile so you can see them in the dim light of the dust cloud surrounding you.

You lose count of how many times you've emptied your Walker within the past 10 minutes.

You are mistaken for Chimney sweepers.

After the constant retracing of your mower paths to pick up blowing leaves you begin to sing out loudly, "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow"

11-11-2003, 10:03 AM
Leaves ? I need to clean-up the leaves?:D

11-11-2003, 11:22 AM

Farting dust! That's a good one. Hasn't happened to me yet, so I guess I haven't been doing cleanups for TOO long yet.
