Don't operate a business without insurance...period! Suppose you hurt someone or damaged the property. You''ll get slaped with a huge lawsuit you probally can't afford and lose everything you own. Get a $1,000,000 general liabiliy policy. They aren't as expensive as you might think...just shop around. If you plan on doing contract work, get a bond.

We are starting up for 2004 also, been working on all the little details for a while now. I was able to get my vehicle & business insurance through Hastings Mutual. 2M liability plus replacement coverage on all our equipment runs about $200 per month. I wouldn't dream of cutting my neighbor's lawn without it. We've signed several half million homes. They all have expensive toys in the driveway when we were bidding. If you are planning on bidding commercial most will require at least 1M general liability.

Does anyone have any company names for insurance (name and number)? I would really like to compare my policy with another company to see what the difference would be. Any information would be appreciated.
