Planning out the new LC business and wondering what size trailer to start off with.

I will be carrying a lawn aerator, power rake, a couple of push mowers, a lawn vacum, timmer, backpack blower, fuel cans, debris bins, tool box. I will also have to haul whatever bags of leaves or cuttings/debris that will not fit into the back of the 6.5 ft box of my 1/2 ton (Chev c1500 Silverado)

Here are my questions;

* Should it have 2', 4' or no sides. Mesh or solid sides?
* Should I purchase with a double axel or is single sufficient?
* Is it recommended to have electric brakes?
* Is having a side and a rear ramp advantageous?
* What can you do for the winter months with the trailer?

Any other advice for this rookie is welcomed.:)

Opinions will vary, but I think for now you would be fine with 6.5'by 12' Single axle.

They may not tow the best but they serve their purpose. You dont need the best when your just starting out. (no heavy loads) Good way to financial ruin. I guess capescaper you have all double/tandem. you must have deep pockets or run one crew. when starting out or running multiple crews single axles have there place. Again opinions will vary... like I said opinons will vary.......

Thanks for all the replies.

After reading through this great site and seeing the pictures, I have decided on the following features ;

- 7'X12'
- Electric brakes.
- 4' side and 7' rear entrance ramps
- Wood decking

BUT I still need advice on whether to go to 2' or 4 foot sides. It would be great to have solid sides on a 2' and 2' mesh on top of that but the manufacturer only makes mesh or solid sides.

Are there any opinions about 2' or 4' sides?
